MAC and Horizon would like to congratulate Mrs. Shuman on completing graduate level coursework at BGSU (Bowling Green State University) to obtain her Transition to Work (7-12) Endorsement to her Intervention Specialist license. This will allow her to more effectively support our students with disabilities in their transition from school to post-secondary employment.
This is done through the creation of individualized transition plans, which will assist students in developing work readiness skills, job seeking strategies and other life skills needed for success as they transition to adult life after graduation.
Many of our CTE (Career Technical Education) teachers at Horizon Columbus have also worked with BGSU over extended periods of time to complete their advanced ODEW (Ohio Department of Education and Workforce) teaching and licensing requirements. BGSU is a solid school that has benefited our local programs and departments greatly.
