Students Showcase Innovation in Green Belt Projects

Students from the College and Career English classes recently presented their Lean Six Sigma Green Belt projects, demonstrating their hard work and dedication. Since January, these students have been developing their projects, building on the foundational knowledge gained from their Yellow Belt certification earned last October.

This year's projects addressed a range of significant issues, including mental health, food waste on campus, and patient neglect in nursing homes. Students also examined challenges related to transportation and traffic flow, as well as explored alternatives to the dress code. A total of 25 innovative projects were showcased during the presentations.

The event attracted several notable guests, including school administrators Mr. Zen, Mrs. Aykan, and Mrs. Forsbach, who attended to support the students' efforts. Additionally, a representative from the City of Westerville, who holds a Master Black Belt in Lean/Six Sigma, participated in two classes, alongside a student and ROTC member from Ohio State University.

Kathy Hostetler, the College and Career English teacher, expressed her pride in the students' creativity and commitment. “If you have any questions about the College and Career English class or the projects, I would love to chat about the remarkable work my students are doing, especially during this exciting time of year,” she said.

The presentations served as a testament to the students' ability to apply their learning to real-world challenges, showcasing their potential as future leaders and problem-solvers.
