Last month on October 27th, 2023 Mrs. Meldrum's Biology class went on a field trip to COSI engaging in diverse arrays of biology topics, and delving into the intricacies of life science!
Fundamental concepts were explored, such as cellular biology - studying the microscopic world within living organisms. Students were also introduced to genetics, understanding how traits are inherited, and the role of DNA in the blueprint of life. Ecology was addressed, emphasizing the interdependence of living organisms and their environments.
Some students had the opportunity to explore growth through the last 100 years and begin talking about how humans have impacted the world - the Anthropocene. Through hands-on activities and interactive exhibits, students gained a deeper understanding of biology, fostering a curiosity for the living world!
