On Saturday, March 1st Blessing Gyimah (11th) competed at the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair (BSEF) at CAS in Columbus.
This is the first time we have attended this competition in-person. The BSEF is an independent state fair that qualifies students to go to the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). It is an extremely important event for science fair students. It is a rigorous selection process where the 95 projects were narrowed down to 9 projects that will represent the state of Ohio at ISEF.
It was a great experience for Blessing. She was able to present her project, receive valuable feedback, and network with people and other students competing at the fair.
She did not qualify for ISEF, but we are still very proud of her for attending and presenting her project at this major event.
She received a participation certificate and 2 Sponsor Awards. These recognitions and awards are from companies, businesses, universities, and more who review students' projects that relate to their fields and provide specific students with awards.
Blessing received:
Recognition from United States Environmental Protection Agency- Office of Research and Development National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) "Taking the Pulse of the Planet" Award
Mr.Ince has done an amazing job helping Blessing with her project this year as her mentor. I am serving as her additional mentor and support. We want to take the time to thank everyone else who has supported her with her project.
We are very proud of her and her amazing talents.
Please congratulate Blessing on her achievements at BSEF when you see her. Also, wish her luck at our other competitions- District Science Day and CONSEF in Chicago.
