During February, the Violet Barnett Chapter of the National Honor Society got together and led a Penny War to raise funds to support the families in our community affected by the massive earthquakes in Syria and Turkey. Students constantly collected jars, replaced jars, and counted the MANY coins that students and staff donated. Toward the end of the fundraiser, two of our school staff members provided not 1, but 2 $100 bills to go towards this group's cause. We as a society are proud to say we raised $866 that was then donated to the Concept School Relief Fund. This money will go towards helping families rebuild and receive the help they need to regain normalcy in their lives.
